Master your skills in the spoken and written English language in a supportive and welcoming environment.

While learning to expand and further develop your language, literacy and numeracy skills, you will increase your confidence to actively establish networks and participate in in-depth conversations in your community and at work. This course is facilitated by expert teaching staff that understand each learner is different. They will provide the support and guidance you need to complete your studies.

You will enhance your English language skills at a upper-intermediate level and develop practical work-skills. This course will teach you how to create presentations, write a resume and will expand on your grammar, vocabulary, writing, numeracy and conversation skills.

Upon successful completion of this program you will have developed the ability to negotiate transactions and respond to complex spoken instructions. You will have developed a strong understanding of the English language which will provide the foundation to progress into further studies or enter the workforce.

Selection criteria

Entry into this course with TAFE Queensland can be via the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) programme or Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP). Please visit the TAFE Queensland English Language and Literacy Services (TELLS) page for further information.

Resources required

It is recommended that you have access to and bring to class personal stationery, a USB (optional), headphones (optional), and a bilingual Oxford Picture Dictionary (optional).
