Progress your construction career with this apprenticeship course. Hone your stonemasonry skills to become a recognised tradesperson.
CPC32313 Certificate III in Stonemasonry (Monumental/Installation)
Complete this apprenticeship course with TAFE Queensland to become a trade qualified stonemason. According to the Australian Government's Job Outlook service, bricklayers and stonemasons are a skill in demand with employers finding it hard to fill vacancies. This large occupation is expected to create around 13,000 job openings over the next five years.
In this course you will learn to work with marble, granite, and other types of stone and stone products to produce building components. You will use computer numerical control (CNC) machinery and other stonemasonry tools and equipment to cut and shape stone slabs for a range of purposes including kitchen bench tops, fireplaces, decorative mouldings, stairs or tombstones and memorials. Your training plan will align with your workplace requirements with specialisations in fabrication, installation or monumental stonemasonry.
Successful completion of this course as part of your apprenticeship will allow you to be recognised as a trade qualified stonemason and continue to progress your career in the construction industry.
At TAFE Queensland you'll have access to the latest equipment and technology to ensure you learn industry-current techniques and have the skills most sought after by employers. Our stonemasonry facilities boast computerised signing and plotting equipment, an imported copy lathe, a mobile block saw and five-axis computer numerical control (CNC) saw.
TAFE Queensland is a proud recipient of Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) funding and is a registered provider in the CSQ Skills Assessment and Gap Training Program – this course is subsidised under this program. It is important to note only eligible participants may receive funding for eligible courses. Learn more about eligibility criteria.
