Holders of an expired licence between three and six years are required to apply for the equivalent licence by taking this course. You will need written approval from the Department of Natural Resources and Mines before you can reapply for your licence.

Selection criteria

Entry requirements

Participants whose Gas Licence has lapsed for between two to five years will need to apply to resit their Gas Licence test with the examiner. If the participant fails the test, they will need to attend TAFE Queensland SkillsTech's program. Participants require a letter from the Gas Examiner granting authority to complete the Gas Trade Test.

  • AS/NZS 5601.2: Gas Installations - LP Gas Installations in Caravans and Boats for non-propulsive purposes
  • AS/NZS 1596: The storage and handling of LP Gas Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Regulation 2004

Important Information

Further study: On successful completion of this course, graduates can continue their study in the CPC40912 Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services to progress to full gas work licence level.
