This course is designed to assist owners or managers of small to medium-size businesses, and team leaders in larger organisations, to get the maximum return on their investment in staff and to maintain an efficient, harmonious working environment.

The program is also suitable for those aspiring to a team leader role or a career in human resources management. It is also an ideal course for those with responsibilities for staffing issues whose expertise is in other areas, and for those planning to set up new businesses.

During five intensive days of learning and practice, all basics aspects of people management in the workplace are covered including:

Selection criteria

No prior knowledge or experience is required.

Resources required

  • Participants should bring a notebook and a pen.
  • Students need to present their Confirmation of Enrolment to the car park attendant each week to be eligible for discounted parking.

Assessment Methods

Skill and knowledge assessments are an essential step in progressing through your course. You may be assessed in a number of ways while you are studying at TAFE Queensland, including observation, written assessment, questioning, portfolios, work samples, third-party feedback, and through recognition of prior learning. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and credit transfers
