These programs, which include short courses/individual units of competency, Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma level training, are suited to career starters looking to enter the construction industry, current tradespeople who want to upskill and those who simply want to gain formal qualifications for the skills that they have already learnt in the workplace.  TAFE Queensland is a proud recipient of Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) funding.

 

 How funding works


CSQ funding is paid directly to TAFE Queensland. Where CSQ funding doesn’t cover the full cost of the program, you will be required to contribute towards the remaining course fees.

 

 

Short courses

The CSQ Short Courses Program provides funding for a number of competencies and skill sets for existing workers wanting to update their skills and knowledge in specific areas. For course information please download the brochure below.

TRADE START

CSQ Trade Start is a pre-employment program which introduces you to the building and construction industry. It will give you a better understanding of the work involved and help you find a trade you like. Trade Start is suited to people with no previous building or construction experience.

Eligibility

CSQ funding is paid directly to TAFE Queensland. This course is fully funded for eligible students.

SKILLS ASSESSMENT AND GAP TRAINING

The CSQ Skills Assessment and Gap Training (SAGT) program provides pathways for eligible students with significant industry experience to have their existing skills recognised and receive the gap training required to achieve a nationally-recognised qualification.

HIGHER LEVEL SKILLS

The CSQ Higher Level Skills (HLS) program helps existing workers in the building and construction industry to gain new skills and knowledge to progress their career. Certificate IV and higher level vocational training qualifications are available under this program.
